Our History

Nationally

Presbyterians trace their history to the 16th century and the Protestant Reformation. Our heritage, and much of what we believe, began with John Calvin (1509-1564), whose writings crystallized much of the Reformed thinking that came before him.

Follow this link www.pcusa.org/navigation/whoweare.htm to the PCUSA site for lots more information about our denomination.

Locally

On February 17, 2008, the First Presbyterian Church of Dryden turns 200 years young!  Our history is broken up into three distinct time periods: 1808 to 1908, 1908 to 2008, and 2008 to 2108.  Our Church has a proud history of serving the Dryden and surrounding community in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ.

The Bicentennial Committee has been working feverishly to make this a momentous occasion that is historic and memorable.
